We have 25 very good Spring Simmental and SimAngus bulls, and 2 Fall Simmental bulls on test at Kansas Bull Development on the Onaga Road Northeast of Wamego, KS. These bulls can be viewed in the most Northeast pen at KBD. Our sale will be on March 10 at 1:00. Our catalog will be mailed out about mid February. The bulls this year are a very good set of Simmental and SimAngus bulls that have performed very well from birth through yearling. Twenty-five yearling bulls averaged 4.18 lb/day on a 98 day test on a moderately high forage-based ration.
There are bulls that could be used as ‘heifer’ bulls; bulls that are terminal-sire growth bulls for mature cows; bulls that have very good combinations of calving ease, growth, maternal, and carcass traits; and bulls that could fit into seed-stock operations.
There are two purebred 18-month old bulls that could be turned out with about 20 cows this spring.
All bulls have good dispositions, good phenotypes, and good feet and leg structures. We have several sets of half-brother bulls. Nearly all bulls are homozygous polled and homozygous black.
